My New Year’s wish to you…

We search for wealth and we search within… We’re advocates of environment or destroy it with bare hands… We write, we sing, we build, we dance; we swim, we cook, we sew, we work the land… We help and watch pain passing by behind our eyes; we give freely and we expect reward. We judge and we accept..

This one goes out to all of you, to each and every one of you out there, no matter how strong our relationship is or not… No matter how far or close you are… No matter how wealthy or poor you are. No matter your religion, skin color or number of pounds!

We’re all here for a reason, we all have lessons to learn and we all need love, care, self-awareness and trust. We’re all beautiful; we just need to see that!

Another 12 months have passed… Another 365 days… Another 4 seasons. But we’re still here…

We wake up every day and go to bed each evening; we breathe, we love, we hate, we forget and we remember. We cherish and we let go with the wind; we make money and we make memories; we follow and we decide for ourselves. We’re black, white, Asian, African, Catholic and orthodox, Muslim and Jewish, Hindu and non-believers. We speak all kinds of languages, yet we can feel the same vibe. We’re analytical, creative, angry and zen. Our hair is blonde, brown, red, grey… And straight… And curly… We’re slim and fluffy, we keep a diet and eat without concern. We over-plan and go with the flow… We search for wealth and we search within… We’re advocates of environment or destroy it with bare hands… We write, we sing, we build, we dance; we swim, we cook, we sew, we work the land… We help and watch pain passing by behind our eyes; we give freely and we expect reward. We judge and we accept..

But who cares about all these? Who makes the rules? Who compels us to follow anything else but our hearts? Do we have to agree so that we can accept? Do we have to fight over lands and who’s first in line? Do we love competition beyond compassion?

We have kids or hope to have. We teach them the best we can and hope we bring up their character according to the society. What society? A robotic society?!

But is this really what we wish for the New Year to bring?

Or would we rather aim for the higher consciousness, for a life with no fear and for a land with no borders?

Just gaze at the stars for a moment. Just stop right there and take the time… Don’t think! Just breathe and watch. Don’t analyze, just accept their shine! Don’t wish upon a falling one, just see it going down!

Do they fight? Do they struggle? Or is there enough room for each of them, just enough to sprinkle their dust and draw their halo? Is there a path aligned in front of them? Or do they just freely swim in the infinity of the Universe?

Now think about the sun and the moon. What’s their purpose? What were they created for? To bring their light to all of us or to fight over the reign of day over night? Or night over day? Do they collaborate, shining in tandem, or do they try to extinguish each other’s power?

Now think about the human race… Do we like where we’re at right now? Does hatred, misunderstood power and ruling bring us any hope? Does our robotic way of being help any of us and the ones around? Do labels scream their doctrine from an old page that loud? And does the new frighten us so much? And what about the NOW? Is it really worth overlooking? Why do we love the misery of worrying and living in what’s already history that much?

One thing is certainwe can rise above these all and start working to knowing ourselves better, one individual at a time; one step at a time; one day at a time; one whispered wish at a time…

Waiting for someone else to do it before us and bring the magic of self discovery on a silver plate at our feet will not solve anything. Will bring no resolution. Start with yourself and the world will change. It needs to change!

What we’re doing now only brings destruction to humanity! Bitterness is what’s beyond the walls of glass perception. The thin ice of false expectations will break one day. And we will all sink into the waters of deceit. The sky is crying because of us! Let us bring back its smile!

That’s my New Year’s wish to you! All of you! Each of you!

We are all in this together. And only together will we make it through. But starting with an individual exercise!

Just slow down for a bit and give it a thought: is it worth it or is it not? Can we do this or are we too complacent for such a task?

Love,
A.

Today I choose to share another book excerpt with you all. Actually 2, describing the main characters. This book will be my piece of writing introducing you to the world of a madly in love woman… Is like a surgery on an open heart…

But that’s all I will tell you. I would love to learn your feedback!

Excerpt from Chapter 2

In another corner of the same city, a boy was born, 2 years after Red Diamond came to this world. He was destined to be a great character, being gifted with an amazing mind and a golden heart.  Over the years, this boy would become a numbers’ magician, successfully playing with them in any related field.

He was tall, having just about the right height of a handsome man; his figure was outlined by a black thick curly hair, sprinkled with white, here and there. His hazel eyes were the ones to inspire genuine trust and warmth and love for humanity. His nose would smell lies from a thousand miles, making it the assistant anyone would die for. His lips were just what the doctor ordered: right width, passion was what they inspired and their color were of a healthy man; they were the most appropriate curtain for a perfectly fit pair of white teeth and were just the thing for unleashing his well-thought words. His neck was the bridge to a nice pair of shoulders, always found in a straight position. These 2 shoulders, designed as if they were watch towers, would ensure that his entire body imposed the respect he deserved. His arms and hands were friends of a powerful man, while his wrists would let show a passion for softness, outlined by thin-leather bracelets.  His fingers – with well-shaped nails – were the direct expression of his intelligence, as they were the ones pressing all the keys and pushing all the necessary buttons. His chest was the guardian of his treasure: the heart within would beat hard in there and its shine would be almost screaming “Let me out of here, so that everyone can see me!” But he was really stubborn about keeping that shine in heavy chains… (What a pity!) His legs were in harmony with the rest of his body and completed well the picture of this “spotlight is not for me” man. His feet were always covered by neat sports shoes, while carrying his steps towards a bright future… He was the Brilliant!

*****

He was the kind of person one could touch any subject with: from small talk (which he would actually not enjoy) to the depth of humanity, preserving Earth’s natural resources, invisible ruling of the world and self-development. He had an answer to everything and would easily make a valid point, as he himself would constantly seek improvement, ready to explore every avenue. And if he didn’t have the proper information, he would definitely put everything in the game to find it. By the time he presented the answer, he would have more than one option, all of them being accompanied by strong arguments.

Shallow waters were not the ones for him, so he would times and often swim against the tide or ride the waves for reaching out for the shore in fair waters…

Excerpt from chapter 6

One day, as they were talking as usual, there was something new catching her eye: for the first time, he was looking at her with a different pair of eyes, as if that was the first time they ever met. She was comfortably standing on the chair next to him and, for a second, she understood the way he was observing her…

She was a medium-height thin woman, absorbing his every word and breathing every glimpse of his; her hair was blonde, carefully held by a golden plastic headband; her big blue eyes were fascinating, revealing a warm-hearted lady who’s been thru a lot and transparently showing the way to her soul; the star-dust in her eyes would shine every time she was looking at him – otherwise these eyes were mostly sad or focused on problem solving; her pointy little nose let show a golden pierce, as sign of her independence; she had a pair of lips that could turn on any man’s desire – these lips would usually wear red lipstick, but at this very moment they were covered in a shiny golden gloss; her long neck was the perfect trespassing to a fit body; her shoulders were in a relaxed position, a clear meaning of confidence and trust; she had a pair of breasts betraying motherhood, but covered enough by a sexy décolletage; her arms were soft and strong in the same time; her hands were tidy and a golden watch would wrap around her left wrist, while a stylish thin bracelet – decorated with a golden swallow and tiny white stones – was the symbol of her right wrist’s grace; her fingers were crowned by neat nails wearing red nail polish, offering our heroine an elegant look; her hips were tiny and her legs harmoniously fit the rest of her body, displaying her feet covered in a pair of red sports shoes… She was Red Diamond…

*****

Her heart was racing in that moment, knowing her options were limited: whether he would be happy or he would definitely turn her down. Such cases would barely design a golden mean, thus failure was what had her trembling with emotion. She had no idea what was coming up…

A.

Free will and “what’s written”

Some may criticise my view, yet I will accept that. We all have our beliefs, we inherit them or build them over time. I choose to accept the inheritance, yet move on and adjust it with my own-built views.

Do you believe in stars? Do you believe in someone or something Greater than you guiding your everyday steps? Do you believe that you are here for a purpose? Yet, do you believe you are, somehow, in charge of the decision and your actions develop consequently?

I do… Every time I learn something new  and every single time I write… Because each time, with each text I share, the outcome is far better than what I initially had in mind. Is like… You know… Like someone takes my hand and touches the keypads for me. Still, I choose if it gets published or not.

Like you first learn how to draw… You want to draw a straight line, but it may turn out that the curved one you just laid on the paper looks better than what you wished for. Why? Because your spirit is free to express its creativity and the one guiding you to display that curved line tries to lift the burka off your eyes and reveal the beauty of unconventional. However, if you’re scared and, after a glimpse, you decide that the first shape is more appropriate to your view – or should fit what you think is the perfect result – you will erase the curved line and have another try for the straight one.

doctrines

Some people say we are fully guided by the Almighty, however I believe we cooperate, somehow. I mean, He knows what’s in store for us, guides our steps towards the destination, but it is us that have to make the decision. It would even be unfair to put the entire blame for the wrong or give full credit for the good that’s going on in our lives to someone else. This is where free will joins the play. It’s all a matter of choice and comfort zone…

Some may criticise my view, yet I will accept that. We all have our beliefs, we inherit them or build them over time. I choose to accept the inheritance, yet move on and adjust it with my own-built views.

Questions I do have: what is acceptance, afterall? Do we have to agree to a point of view, in order to accept it? Or can we just admit that different people have different perceptions, that may not match our own? Do we understand the world around and beyond us? Moreover, do we understand that rules are not always for the best and that we can drive our steps differently? Do we acknowledge that collaboration and communication have a role in the story? (Of course, my point is going towards good, not destruction.) Do we really understand what free will is all about?

There’s a saying: “God gives you, but He doesn’t fill the bag for you”… What I understand from this is that we are being presented with options, but the decision is ours to take… Think about a crossroad: it is already there for us, but it is our call about which of the paths to walk.

Moreover, think about a kid that’s given a homework, asks us for guidance, we help, but do not write it for them. Is their responsibility to search for additional information, to agree or disagree with it, to use the filter of their own mind, to learn from it and present it to the teacher. Not ours. Theirs. If we take the pen and do the task for them, how can they improve? How can they learn to filter the information and build up an opinion around it? Would we help them? I believe we would not. We would, in fact, bring them a great lack of aid.

My kids know this: they can do as they belive is best, but they’re aware that action drives reaction. They’re still very young, yet their ground towards learning to think for themselves is already set. They will confront today’s society with their own beliefs and they will be able to take charge of their own lives and thoughts.

Now, let’s enlarge a bit the “what’s written” part.

Doctrines teach us to believe in what’s written on a piece of paper without leaving us the space to share our own views. Is that fair? In my opinion, is not. Why? Because times change. Cultures evolve. And just sticking to a hundreds old piece of information is a disadvantage to our own chance to grow. Plus, there are boundaries set there, which do not apply any longer. But, here, we come to comfort zone and free will again.

People feel at ease to let themselves guided on an already-set path, rather than trying to find new ways of self-improvement. But what if we would only pick a piece of advice from the doctrines? Only that piece that fits our own beliefs. The piece than can help us grow, not hold us back. What if we tried to leave the comfort zone for the unknown and build our own perspectives? Would that leave us enough room to develop personal views? Would that help us better than a rusty, world-wide accepted concept?

free will

Give it an objective thought and answer yourselves fairly: should we only use some guidelines or should we just grab the entire information and blindly follow an old trend? And if you choose to follow the old rules, what is your own explanation? The fear of being judged? Or the fact that you choose to belive in it?

The time to accept change is here. We can all learn to get in charge of our own thoughts and use that free will we are granted at birth. For the better. For personal development and for spreading it around the world…

A.

Day 5 of flavor of kindness: Let the magic begin!

Inspired by Chinedu Ihekwoaba

There’s nothing here. Yet so much to find. Just open your eyes, your mind, your heart. Never let it go. Hold tight and say it loud: “I trust you”.

Don’t reduce it to silence – you’re heading the wrong way. Don’t shut the door in front of it – you’ll still find it there when you take the garbage out…

The point is… There’s nothing you can do about it. That’s one stubborn thing that will never let you win. Yes, you can walk it by, make it your stranger, leave it to be your shadow, but you’ll never get rid of it. Because “it is that part of “you” that you want to zip. That part you never have the faith to trust. That “you” which will always try to speak, yet be overlooked. “It” is all “you”.

But you can always bring “it” back to life!

Your own self. Your instinct. Your inner voice. It will never leave you. It may just step into the shadow corner for a bit, waiting patiently for you to call its name. And when you do, you’ll find out it’s still there.

You need to learn how to befriend it. You. The voice. The guide.

The “it” is always there… Just open your eyes, your mind, your heart.

Come on! Just trust it! Fear not, just learn to fly… Meet the REAL YOU… Let “it” take your hand and jump into the magic.

Love,
A.

Day 4 of flavor of kindness: Let’s!

My first, ever published, poem…

My first, ever published, poem – inspired by Christopher Huntley, Amanda Miller and Robert Jenkins

Let’s!

Let’s bring that smile!
Let’s unfold that light!
Let’s take the mile!
Let’s hold a heart!

But let’s…

We all face it
We all need it
We all embrace it
We all behold it.

Moments of sorrow
Cry bitter tears
No one to borrow
But whipe the fears

Efforts can be made
Hardships we can save
Brave hearts we can hold
Beauty to unfold

Begin with you
Reveal the truth
Do what you do
But just be you

Uplift a head
Bring spark to life
Just move ahead
And make it thrive

The one around
To see your help
You truly bound
Release the dwell!

Put back the sword
Lay down the shield
Use every word
To fly your wings

No easy step
Just try to see
How you can help
So let’s just be!

But let’s…

Celebrate time
Let us slow down
Witness the rhyme
Remove the clown

The mask on you
Reveals no good
Just let it fall
Do not you crawl

Yet, rise above
Reach up to stars
Give hope a chance
Stich up the scars

Your day will come
To shine again
Just lose the strings
And keep the faith

The world is yours
Beauty can strike
How many hours
For us to rise?

So let’s join hands
And bring the light
Don’t feed the brands,
Let souls shine bright!

Just let’s!

Love,
A.

Day 3 or flavor of kindness: Let time be

We wake up each morning, rush to the office, forget to display that healthy smile, surrendering – instead – to the cold comfort of oblivion. Oblivion towards the wonders of life, towards what we enjoy the most, a complete acceptance of automatism. At a quick glance, must of us are grumpy, craving for that energy-bosting giant cup of coffee.

Before reading further, please take a minute to ask yourself the following:

  • How many times, per year, do you think about yourself? In the means of analyzing your behavior, but also indulging yourself some quality time?
  • Should others consider self-care as being selfish? Is, in the end, a breathing moment something to be judged?
  • How many times do you take the time to JUST STOP? And give time the chance to toss the dice? To let time be… ?

The answers will only serve your purpose, no other. So be fair to your own self and answer objectively.

If you slow down and just observe, you will see that danger is everywhere. But so are chances to improvement, perspectives’ change, beauty and blessings.

So, I’m asking again: how many times do you STOP? How many times do you treat yourself with a BREAK?

You may believe that’s a luxury in today’s fussy world. But guess what: is not. It is actually a basic need, but most of use choose to merciless overlook it. We like to think everything else is more important. We’ve come to strongly believe that living for money is our purpose, while we should – in fact – have money just as a tool to serve a decent living.

We wake up each morning, rush to the office, forget to display that healthy smile, surrendering – instead – to the cold comfort of oblivion. Oblivion towards the wonders of life, towards what we enjoy the most, a complete acceptance of automatism. At a quick glance, must of us are grumpy, craving for that energy-boosting giant cup of coffee. So, maybe that’s the first reason we are so eager to reach the office/ workplace for, as a guiding line to survival of another day.

But what about the pleasure of a single moment? What about the taste of happiness? What about the freedom of a sincere laugh? All these just go somewhere, lost in the sad background of a money-making machine… We’ve become fans of stepping on each other’s foot, fans of running – for no charitable objective, fans of floating in a disgraceful comfort zone that brings us nothing but bitterness, by the end of the day. We love to feed that hunger of anger with crowdy places. The more we rush, the worse things turn up.

But we can change that. One of us at a time. One day at a time. One single stop at a time. One smile, one word, one gesture, one thought… One choice at a time…

[listen to: Marcel de Van – Fantasy in space]

One day, we will see: Time is a friend we should grant wings to…

Can we become trend-setters?

Love,
A.
